Managing Director

Christine - aka CJ - is responsible for the day-to-day running of the business as well as client relationship management and nurturing the agency’s most important asset: the 3 Monkeys team.  

She joined the agency in 2005 when it was just five people in a single room with a dodgy broadband connection - and has been central to driving its growth and shaping 3 Monkeys ever since, becoming MD in 2011.

Christine is a highly experienced strategic consultant and award-winning PR practitioner with over 25 years’ experience, having held senior positions in a number of leading consultancies, with national and international experience working for many household name brands.  Her focus lies in crafting integrated, insight-led campaigns, advising clients on comms strategy and helping businesses engage across stakeholder groups and influencers to best effect.

She has deep experience across a range of industry sectors including technology, not-for-profit and charity, leisure and tourism, aviation, utilities, financial services, public sector and healthcare - while clients have included IBM, the Post Office, Age UK, Scottish Widows and Vauxhall Motors. 

Christine is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.  She lives in leafy Surrey with husband Steve and Lola, their rescue staffy.  Her favourite things include Spain, reading her Kindle, Autumn, designer handbags and a lovely chilled glass of vino (or two).

Steve has seen the disruption and new opportunities that the internet has brought to public relations first-hand since he joined the industry in the mid-1990s. Having started his career in journalism in the UK and worked for two international agencies, Steve started his own PR firm in 1998, managed acquisitions, sold that business and led mergers with others. His work has won multiple awards for campaigns, leadership and business culture. His client experience includes BT, Tesco, The Economist, Toshiba, Symantec and Virgin Media.

Steve joined Zeno in 2012 to run operations in Europe. He is also the co-author of two books about the reputational risks and opportunities of progressive PR, Brand Anarchy and #brandvandals, both published by Bloomsbury.

Tristan  Pineiro
Tristan Pineiro
Director, Consumer & Brand

Tristan re-joins 3 Monkeys after four years at Grayling, where he was Creative Director and Member of the Board for the UK and Ireland, with a remit that covered conceiving, developing and rolling out campaigns for internationally networked clients such as British Airways, Hilton and PayPal among others.  Tristan joined Grayling as MD of Consumer Brands, and pitched, won and led notable campaigns for the likes of Diageo brands such as Pimm’s, Gordon’s and Bell’s; Kellogg’s, Nestle, Wilkinson Sword, Crest Nicholson, M&S and The Croatian National Tourism Board.

Previously at 3 Monkeys Tristan was a Board Director with a particular focus on Consumer Accounts, spanning Travel, Technology and Personal Finance.

Tristan has also worked on a number of Public information campaigns such as Talk to Frank, Think! And Smoking Cessation, and spent three years as PR Manager at Age Concern Enterprises (now Age UK).

David Berkovitch
David Berkovitch
Head of Healthcare

David oversees the 3 Monkeys Zeno Healthcare practice in the UK where he specialises in developing and implementing campaigns to launch, re-position or revive health brands and causes.

David is a seasoned healthcare communicator with deep corporate and product experience across a broad range of companies, from health-tech to big pharma. 

Specialist experience includes disease and treatment campaigns for blockbuster brands and organisations including AbbVie, Bayer, Novartis, Pfizer, Philips, Unilever and the World Health Organisation.

He is passionate about helping health companies navigate and lead the global shift from reactive to proactive healthcare – working across the increasingly broad range of medicines, products and services that help keep us healthy.

David joins 3MZ from FleishmanHillard Fishburn where he was Director and Partner and previously co-led the London healthcare practice. Prior to that, David spent nearly eight years at 3 Monkey Zeno’s sister company, Edelman.

He also has a successful career in the performing arts and, as a younger man, most memorably spent nearly two years running up and down barricades in the hit musical, Les Misérables.

Stuart heads up all aspects of 3 Monkey’s creative output - his fascination for human behaviour and British culture being particularly useful when it comes to creating compelling, award-winning campaign work.

He’s won industry awards across PR, marketing, sponsorship and digital on both sides of the Atlantic - and is particularly proud of being shortlisted at the New York Film Festival for a 3 Monkeys campaign he created for Microsoft Internet Explorer, in which Edgar Wright directed the first crowd-sourced animated web film.

Stuart has developed innovative campaigns and ideas to promote booze, biscuits, burgers, perfume, kids clothes, PCs and phones for brands like McVitie’s, Jacobs, McDonald’s, Nokia, McAfee, Marks & Spencer and Unilever.  He’s worked with sporting and entertainment talent from David Beckham to Dizzee Rascal on major product launches and an award-winning sport community initiative.  And he’s a sucker for a good story, as he strongly believes in the power of storytelling to move people.

Hugh Burrows

Head of Digital

Hugh oversees the agency’s strategy, planning and delivery across online and social channels - with 14 years’ experience in digital and social media, gained largely as Planning Director at Que Pasa Communications (now part of Seven), a business that developed communities, content and apps across web, social, mobile and broadcast channels.

He’s worked on marketing campaigns for the likes of Red Bull, Nike and Sony Ericsson, and on content projects for the BBC, Channel 4 and Virgin Mobile.  More recently, Hugh was Head of Digital at Unity, where he managed social and digital elements of major campaigns including the hugely successful Shwopping for Marks & Spencer and the NMA Award-winning R UV UGLY? for Cancer Research UK.

Hugh is an ardent music fan with esoteric tastes - he loves the great outdoors, and is also alleged by his friends to be a more-than-decent cook.

Sarah Ogden

Director, Corporate and Business Communications

Sarah oversees 3 Monkeys’ Business Communications practice, where she specialises in delivering a blend of corporate and b2b brand-centric campaigns that engage the full spectrum of stakeholder and influencer audiences.

Previously MD for one of the UK’s first dot com PR agencies, she is fluent in devising cut through campaigns in fast paced, highly competitive and regulated markets. Sarah has over 15 years’ experience using communications to support business transformation, working with organisations having to rapidly adapt to new markets and consumer demands. This has most recently included the development of 3 Monkeys’ Employee Engagement expertise that uses creative and interactive experiences to shape how brands connect and build the communities they serve. 

Today, Sarah’s passion is in harnessing new and emerging media and communications channels to grow 3 Monkeys Business Communications practice (now Holmes EMEA Top 5 Agency). Success continues to come from applying consumer thinking in a corporate environment to keep brands tightly aligned to markets and the societies they impact.  Combining the magic of emotion with the best rational PR methods to deliver game-changing campaigns, Sarah’s team prides itself on its long list of award accolades including Best Corporate campaigns, B2B Agency of the year finalist, Content Marketing and Best use of Research.

Phil is a “recovering reporter” who spent more than a decade reporting from around the world for ITV News on a wide range of stories, including business, technology, the environment and politics. He has filed stories from Iraq, Afghanistan and the Arctic. His reports also appeared on CNN and NBC News.

Having spent such a long time reporting from outside buildings, he still gets a thrill being on the inside these days, advising some of the world’s biggest brands on media strategy. At 3 Monkeys Zeno he creates corporate communications campaigns that build reputations and grow businesses.

He once asked Tony Blair if he had a fake tan and was filmed by ITV News swimming in the (briefly) Arctic Ocean.
