Key people

Tom Tootal
Tom Tootal
Director

Tom co-founded Bandstand in the midst of 2009’s crippling recession. Convention decreed that it was the worst possible time to start a business – but Bandstand was never going to be conventional. Think of him as the Bandstand overlord. As our co-creator, he loves three things – an agency with no boundaries, meeting new people, and mornings.

Nik Windsor
Nik Windsor
Director

As a kid, Nik liked the ad breaks more than the programmes themselves, so it was a no-brainer that a few years later he’d find himself in some of London’s most interesting creative agencies.

An account man with a creative soul, he’s held senior roles at VCCP, Fallon and Wieden + Kennedy, leading teams for the likes of O2, Nokia and Cadbury’s. He also led 4Creative during their recent refresh of the Channel 4 brand.

Kevin Summers
Kevin Summers
Creative Director

In the last two decades, Kevin has been privileged enough to create global creative work, brand strategies, guidelines and experiences for products you can watch, wear, share, tweet, eat, drink, drive, search, listen to, pause, play, shake, bake or just look at and think, I want one. By focussing on human wants and desires, he’s blurred the lines between creative, planning, communications strategy and media to make the biggest possible connection with audiences.

Jennifer Walker
Jennifer Walker
Group Business Director

Jenn wanted to be a doctor back in Canada. But she ended up working as a spin doctor in PR at 20th Century Fox. Since then, Jenn has gained experience across almost every sector of marketing and advertising, from non-profits to automotive to beauty. At Bandstand, she heads up lots of our big place-making and property accounts.

Lauren Holness
Lauren Holness
Brand Director

Lauren originally set out to inspire the next generation through teaching before an impulsive U-turn which led her to inspiring national headlines with projects like K99, the world’s first ice cream van for dogs, and landed her dream advertising job at Saatchi & Saatchi.

Lauren then joined the Brand Marketing team at Channel 4, picking up a BAFTA working with Nik on the launch of ‘Humans’, the channels most successful drama.

From there she hop-skipped between the UK and USA to help grow the Topshop empire and then a year later (and a stone heavier thanks to the unnecessary portion sizes) she was back working with Nik as part of the Bandstand family.

Brett Melvill-Smith
Brett Melvill-Smith
Digital Director

Brett had his own TV show. As in, he created his own TV show. On actual TV. Then he modernised and turned around an educational channel. From there he worked his way through Adam & Eve and Razorfish, leading digital projects for iconic global brands like Philips and McDonalds. Now he heads up our Digital team. Maybe we’re part of an experimental mixed media art piece he’s masterminding? How would we know?
