Creating a brochure website for Village

In an increasingly competitive space, a brand hotel booking experience has to be unparalleled in its simplicity and ease of use, and visually engaging with bespoke photography and considered typography.

Equator was briefed to wow Village customers, with refreshed visuals for key pages.

This included improving the merchandising on the site to ensure there is a clear difference between selling and telling, in order to reach the target audiences of families and travellers interested in comfort.

Putting the story first

With plenty of hotels jostling for attention in a crowded marketplace, we wanted to create something that stood out. Something that would instantly grab attention and make people want to discover more.

The solution was a sleek and visually engaging brochure website, reminiscent more of designer fashion than hotels.

The idea was to tell the story of Village and what it has to offer, complete with videos, photography and clean typography.

Adding artistry

We believed that the current photography on file was not sufficient for the Village website, and that we were lacking in fundamental brand-appropriate imagery for key pages like the homepage, hotel and other brand pages.

We planned to create photography in the new brand style across the website – including close up shots.

With so many different hotel brands in the market, Equator knew how important it was to stand out from the crowd, and showcase Village as the best place – for a night’s sleep, a meal or a visit to the gym.

A fresh solution

Equator’s solution was to create a style more reminiscent of high street fashion than a hotel, with close-cropped lifestyle shots and contemporary still-life photography.

An exploding beer bottle, a bright yellow swimming cap and a leaning tower of burger – the photography is inviting, sleek and focused on the more sophisticated target audience.

Coupled with a series of art-directed videos, this approach showcased Village’s offering in a fresh and exciting way.
