For the fourth year running, I was delighted to be invited back to speak at The University of Edinburgh by Professor of Advertising and Consumer Culture Stephanie O’Donohoe. As Marketing Manager for Creativebrief, my role is to raise the profile of the company in the client community.
The Marketing and Management Masters course at Edinburgh covers client/agency relationships, and since 2014 Creativebrief have been guest-lecturing and offering insight into the how’s and why’s surrounding brands reviewing their agency relationships. As part of this agenda, students have been set a task to bring the topic to life. This year it centred around an RFI sent out by Creativebrief in the Food & Drink sector. Students were put into groups and given an amended version of the longlist and tasked with selecting a pitch list based on the criteria detailed in the RFI. The competitive element added to the real-world nature of the task and proved for a very interactive session.
I’m delighted Professor O’Donohoe was happy with the session. She said, “[The students] got a lot from researching the agencies and I’m sure they will now be familiar with the tremendous online resource that is Creativebrief – we will make plenty of use of it over the remainder of the sessions in looking for examples of exciting work and case histories.”
Creativebrief are committed to nurturing the next generation of talent and guest-lecturing is a big part of this. As well as our ongoing partnership with Edinburgh, I will be speaking at Middlesex University in March.
