In 2020, one in two local businesses were facing closure. So Google pledged to help one million of them stay open. Knowing that businesses do better with online reviews, Google wanted to show the U.K. how easy it is to leave a Google review to help small businesses stay open and revive communities at risk during the pandemic

Use true stories to rally the nation

Dear Local - a campaign that put the spotlight on real struggling businesses, using talent in a truly authentic way. Our celebrities – booked by talent agency Attachment – co-created their scripts, showing a genuine love for their own local communities and encouraging others to do the same - sparking a cultural movement that saw twenty more famous faces join the cause.

Redwood BBDO then delivered 180 assets in just 11 weeks across TV, YouTube and Social, showing agility, speed and efficiency beyond any traditional agency model, and Dear Local became one of Google’s best loved campaigns of recent years.
