WHO SAYS NO TO MENTOS?

To help launch their new global positioning and tagline ‘Who says no to Mentos?’, we were tasked with developing a campaign that would get people talking about the brand, plus start to build awareness of their new creative approach.

 

 

OUR SOLUTION

Starting out in Birmingham, we ran a heavyweight OOH campaign across the city – using primarily digital placements, asking if the people of Birmingham ‘would say no to Mentos’. This was closely integrated with a more experiential approach and some product sampling, to see just how well consumers would interact with the brand.

And they didn’t disappoint. We set up photo booths across the city centre, capturing animated gifs of people with their Mentos and transferring them instantly to huge digital screens. Over the course of the campaign, 5000+ gifs were created, with 45% of people going on to share them across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!

 

 

CAMPAIGN EXTENSION

The campaign was so well received in Birmingham that we were given the opportunity to roll it out across Manchester as well. This not only helped to further raise brand awareness, but also provided Mentos with thousands of pieces of UGC, plus gave us a strong creative platform to help grow and optimise their social media offering.

Since taking over their social account, we’ve seen engagement rates of more than nine times the industry average and have helped to achieve an annual reach of 80m+ – enabling Mentos to stake their claim to having one of the strongest F&B social presences in the UK.
