Bryte Smart Bed

It seems that technology in the bedroom is more prevalent than ever as we obsess over both tracking and understanding how we sleep. And now, that technology has infiltrated even into the beds themselves.

If you’re anything like me then you view your bedroom as a sanctuary, a place where emails cannot reach you, a candle’s always lit and the bed always made. As of this year I made a vow to keep my room as tech-free as possible; switching off phones, removing laptops and picking up books instead.

It seems however, that technology in the bedroom is more prevalent than ever as we obsess over both tracking and understanding how we sleep. And now, that technology has infiltrated as far as our beds themselves.

Enter the Bryte smart bed, designed by tech start-up BRYTE. The bed has been designed to monitor your temperature and adjust the mattress accordingly; customise the support provided for different parts of the body; and even rock you to sleep if you should so wish.

The bed controls temperature through a thermoelectric system, whilst the support is adjusted through “active coils.” All changes happen noiselessly and automatically as the bed contains sensors that pick up on the state of your body and the surrounding environment. The data is processed by the bed’s central unit and its intelligent sleep platform AIDEN, allowing it to learn and improve over time.

If that wasn’t enough, the Bryte bed can also be connected to other smart home devices like the Nest thermostat and Hue lighting to align your bedtime and morning routines, creating true symbiosis amongst your household technology.
