Bartenders from around the world are invited to take part in Johnnie Walker’s brand new challenge that centres around the brand’s iconic Black Label whisky.

Johnnie Walker is challenging bartenders across the globe to showcase their skills and share their best cocktails that feature Johnnie Walker Black Label. The challenge offers bartenders of all experience levels the opportunity to win an exclusive three-night immersive Black Label experience in Scotland, the home of Johnnie Walker.

Four winners will be selected by an expert judging panel made up of the likes of Tim Philips-Johansson, Johnnie Walker Global Brand Ambassador, Adrián Michalčík, World Class Global Bartender of the Year 2022, and Nick Tesar, the 2022 Australia World Class winner and winner of the World Class Johnnie Walker challenge.

One winner will be chosen from each participating region South & Central America, Asia & Australia, Africa and Europe. Judges will assess the entries on aesthetics as well as recipe balance, creativity and flare in order to select the winners.

The initiative aims to shine a light on Johnnie Walker Black Label’s credentials and give back to the bartending community that engage with the brand everyday and know the product inside out. The competition is open to bartenders of all experience levels as Johnnie Walker strives to support members of the wider hospitality industry who help to deliver the Johnnie Walker quality experience to customers each day.

Winners will be invited on a trip to Scotland that will place in May 2023 which includes a behind-the-scenes distillery tour, a visit to the Diageo Archives, a deconstructed tasting of Johnnie Walker Black Label with Dr Emma Walker, Johnnie Walker’s first female Master Blender and an invitation to enjoy an array of experiences at the Johnnie Walker brand home, Johnnie Walker Princes Street.

To enter the competition bartenders must publish a public Instagram post of their own signature Johnnie Walker Black Label cocktail, including recipe and reason why Johnnie Walker Black Label works perfectly in the serve.
