Myakka is an independent furniture and interior décor retailer. They specialise in fair trade and ethically sourced products from Asia.
Myakka were a pioneer of fair trade and value it above everything else. Rather than being a fashionable business decision, it was clear this was central to their philosophy. With the popularity of fair trade on the up, this particular USP was getting a little hazy, meaning the brand positioning needed to work harder to give it a point of difference.
Ultimately, our role was to help them tell their story, promote the ethical trading angle, the passion for the product and the family values that underpin their approach.
Ensuring we were sensitive to the fact that the products are ethically sourced and handcrafted but to help bring the brand into a modern space without alienating their existing loyal customer base.
A new brand position that promotes the things that really matter to them and which translates into all aspects of the business be that HR, Procurement or Customer Service.
A new visual identity including a new logo, colours and graphic language to be applied to all internal and external collateral including online.
Simple to use guidelines outlining everything from photography style to tone of voice.
