Carat keeps Legal & General and BAA media accounts

Legal & General has retained Carat on its £8 million UK media planning and buying account.
Carat pitched for the offline portion of the business against MindShare and PHD. It retained the digital aspect after a pitch against Arena BLM's digital unit, BLM Quantum, Harvest and Steak Media.

Carat has also retained the £3 million media planning and buying account for the airport operator BAA Group following a statutory review.
The agency pitched against Zed and Universal McCann.Nick Adderley, the former marketing director at LoveFilm and head of e-commerce marketing for Sainsbury's, joined BAA as commercial marketing director in July.
Neil Jones, the chief executive of Carat, said: "We are delighted to retain both firms and look forward to developing their businesses."
Last year, Legal & General posted the slogan "On rainy days we shine" on the side of London taxis.
The financial services group ended a review of its direct marketing roster in July 2007, adding Crayon, Teamspirit, Pepper and Omobono to its line-up.
