International Women’s Day (8th March) is a yearly celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It is a day to come together to call for action to accelerate the world towards gender equality.

This year’s theme, #BreakTheBias, encourages people to take action and challenge biases and stereotypes in order to initiate real change. Whether deliberate or unconscious, biases make it difficult for women everywhere to move ahead.

Individually we are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions and together we can break the bias in our communities and workplaces. Creativebrief holds a privileged place at the heart of the creative and marketing industries with wide-reaching influence. As such, we believe that we must take our responsibilities seriously and push for equality every day, not just on International Women’s Day.

We actively support organisations in our industry making a tangible difference:

-  We are proud to be the media partner of the Women in Marketing Global Awards.

-  Our #EverydayActions series with Bloom highlights learnings and insights to drive real change in the workplace.

-  As part of our partnership with Creative Equals, we help create the annual RISE trend report to amplify diverse and inspiring voices making a genuine difference to our industry.

-  BITE Voices is our open-source platform for best practice in diversity and inclusion across the industry. We are always looking for best in class ideas and initiatives which can drive learning towards a more inclusive industry for all.

As well as building on our existing partnerships and efforts towards a more equal world, we are marking Internal Women’s Day this year by pledging the individual ways that we intend on breaking the bias every day.

I will do all I can to continue to foster an environment at Creativebrief that creates equal opportunity for women, supports them to thrive and recognises their immense contribution.
