On the 26th of January nine creative agencies are set to go head to head in the Live Final Show of The Creative Shootout 2023. The competition which is now in its 6th year is the UK’s leading ‘done-in-a-day’ creative award for the marketing industry.

Held at the Picturehouse Central in London, the final will see nine teams of four take to the main stage in a live show format, hosted by presenter and broadcaster Scott Wimsett, where they’ll show off their creative flair for a charity in need of some bold solutions.

This year’s chosen charity is FoodCycle, an organisation that supports communities across the UK; feeding the hungry, providing company and warmth to the lonely, all while using food which would otherwise go to waste.

The nine finalist agencies were chosen this month by a  judging panel, following a 60 second digital entry stage. The selected agencies are:

  • Bottle - Digital PR agency
  • Grayling - Communications agency with a UK network
  • Lewis - Creative, digital and PR agency
  • Mischief - Consumer communications agency, part of the MHP Group
  • Raw - Creative and strategy agency
  • Red - Integrated communications agency
  • Frank - Creative PR agency
  • Stand - Integrated communications agency
  • Stir - Brand PR agency

On the day of the final agencies will have just four hours of creative prep on a brief they receive from FoodCycle. Then they will have just 8 minutes each to convince an audience of 400 people and the judging panel that their big idea is the best for the charity.

The winning agency will go on to work with FoodCycle and see their campaign idea come to life later in the year, aided by a £10,000 prize fund and a £50,000 media inventory prize from the Shootout’s national media partner, The Guardian.

“The Creative Shootout exists to showcase the extraordinary talent and thinking in our industry, while giving back each year to a cause that really matters. The Live Final Show looks set to be a blockbuster.” says Creative Shootout Founder, Johnny Pitt.

This year’s Creative Shootout is supported by The IPA, CIPR, CMA and IAB UK. The 2023 judging panel includes:

  • Chris Bavin, Cook and TV Presenter
  • Christina Adane, Social Campaigner
  • David Fraser, Founder and Managing Director of Ready10
  • James Cross, Former Creative Director at BBC and Founder of Meanwhile
  • Jane Hamilton, Consumer Affairs Journalist
  • Joel Midgley, Head of Global Brand Marketing at The Guardian
  • Johnny Pitt, Charity Entrepreneur and Founder of The Creative Shootout
