Eco Helmet
Ecohelmet is a foldable, recyclable helmet for bike share, and winner of the James Dyson Award 2016.
As a seasoned cyclist I know how dangerous the roads are, and I find it shocking how many people use Santander Cycles - London's shared bike scheme - without a helmet.
Designed by Isis Shiffer, an Industrial Designer from Brooklyn New York, EcoHelmet is an inexpensive folding helmet that can be purchased at docking stations and recycled at the end of the ride.
Constructed from waterproofed recycled paper in a radial honeycomb pattern, EcoHelmet absorbs blows from any direction as effectively as traditional polystyrene. It folds flat for easy vending and fits most head sizes.
