On the 23rd of September, NABS, the support organisation for the advertising and media industry, will be hosting its fifth annual fundraising Art Auction to showcase talent within the industry and help raise money for much-needed NABS services.

The concept began back in London in 2003 and has since been relaunched in Scotland in 2016. Whilst the proceeds from the auction go back to helping support ad industry professionals, the idea behind the event is to also uncover hidden talent in the industry. Artwork from talent of all levels will be on display to shine a light on the creativity within the industry beyond those with creative job titles.

Artwork on show at this year's event includes contributions from the likes of Scott Brenman, former Head of Strategy at Wavemaker, now psychotherapist in training, and adland legend Mark Denton. Plus Sarah Lim, who works as an Art Director at Leo Burnett, and has exhibited prize-winning artwork that can command upwards of £500 per painting. And, this year's auction will also house photographic portraits of Anthony Joshua and Marcus Rashford by Ranald Mackechnie – well-known in the industry and in royal circles – famous for his shot of Charles and William with George standing on a pile of books in Buckingham Palace.

The exhibit aims to promote people’s work from across the industry and demonstrate the depth of talent adland boasts. With some great artwork up for grabs, this celebration of creativity hopes to showcase and utilise the industry’s own strengths to give back and help those who are having a tough time.

This year's event will take place online, with 80-150 different artworks available to bid on and around 50 being taken to the live event. Those unable to attend the live event can already start placing bids online although some of the best deals will only be available on the day.

Last year the auction raised £6.4k with all funds going to provide support services for the advertising and media industry, nationwide. To sign up for the NABS art auction or to bid on a piece please visit: https://www.32auctions.com/NABSArtAuction2021
