The Power of Brand in Women's Sport

About this event

Over the last 5 years, we’ve all followed the dramatic growth of women’s sport, with brands, governing bodies, and rights-holders taking an increasingly keen interest in helping develop the game. We’ve seen the soaring viewership numbers, celebrated the big wins, and are all now (rightly) obsessed with Mary Earps, but as the Women’s Six Nations fast approaches – and one of the only big tournaments in 2024 – how can women’s sport drive commercial growth beyond key sporting moments?

The importance of brand in emerging categories is crucial, especially in the rapidly expanding world of women's sports, where brand is an often-overlooked ingredient for achieving long-term success. A strong brand fosters trust and loyalty. It signals to the market. A strong brand has the power to attract investors and partners. Done right, a brand serves not just as a differentiator but also a tangible commercial asset.

Join House 337 at our London HQ, for a panel discussion hosted by Nicky Kemp at Creativebrief with speakers from Sky, the ECB, Eni Aluko from Mercury/13 and current English Rugby Player Rachael Burford to share learnings about how to leverage the power of brand and its role in driving growth.

Please find the event agenda below:

Arrival & Registration: 10:30 am

Panel Discussion: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

The panel discussion will explore the following questions:

• Is the role of brand in women’s sport potentially even more valuable that in men’s sport?

• What role (if any) can male sports brands / clubs / organisations play in supporting the growth of women’s sport?

• Women’s sport vs. Men’s sport? Is sport, sport? Or should rights holders and sponsors be highlighting what makes the women’s game different than the men’s?

• What does women’s sport need to do to become financially sustainable?

• What do women’s sports brands of the future look like?

Nibbles & Networking: 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm
