Public SectorWhen we think about the NHS, our minds more often than not flick straight to the doctors, nurses and frontline staff who are the visible, scrub-wearing beating heart of the institution. But there are many more groups of people whose essential work keeps the system running.
In the second instalment of the ‘We Are the NHS’ campaign, MullenLowe focused on the people who work in IT and Support, the ‘hidden army’ whose unwavering support isn’t always recognised. The recruitment campaign draws our attention to other roles within the NHS that are often seen as less essential than the doctoring staff.
The fast-paced film features vignettes of real people, real staff, across hospitals from Canterbury, Southampton and Ashford. It demonstrates the importance of the roles, from those in technology to operations and organisation that essentially keep the machine running.
As the voice over says, the NHS treats around 300 million patients a year. It is a huge system that requires support at every level. This ad shows people who are thinking about a career in the NHS, but don’t necessarily see themselves in doctor’s scrubs, that there are other just as pivotal roles.
