Serial entrepreneur and Founder of business transformation company Let’s Reset Suki Thompson is launching Suki’s Steps, a charity walk and swim to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Thompson, who has been sharing every stage of her battle with cancer on her Instagram account @sukithompson, has focused on the message that #everydayisagift. While she describes herself as a ‘Mum, Friend, Entrepreneur, always in that order’, even as she faces the end of her journey, Suki is thinking of how to use her experience to leave a positive legacy for others.

To this end  Suki’s Steps, a charity swim and walk, aims to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The ten-mile walk will take place along the route of the ‘Chess Valley Walk’ in the Chiltern Hills, which is one of Suki’s favourite parts of the world. It will begin at 10am at Rickmansworth station and finish at Chesham.

Jaz Thompson, Suki’s daughter, (pictured with Suki alongside her brother Sam) explained: “Our amazing and beautiful friend and mum Suki Thompson is coming to the end of her extraordinary journey. Extraordinary because it’s a life that has touched people in so many ways."

She continued: “To honour this, on July 16th, we are walking in the Chilterns and swimming in Cornwall to celebrate her and to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Suki was a trustee of this fantastic charity for nine years and it is now supporting Suki and her family.”

The team behind the day explained that the event is open to everyone and anyone, whether you knew Suki or not. They explain: “The walk will begin at 10h00 from Rickmansworth station (09h30 arrival!) and finish at Chesham. The route is gorgeous, passing through some stunning countryside and you are all very much encouraged to make use of the various pubs along the way to catch up with old and new faces. From start to finish you’ll be amongst friends, you’re welcome to come on your own, with members of your family or as a corporate group. Everyone is welcome.”

Ruth Mortimer, Global President of Advertising Week who has worked with Thompson for many years, added: “Suki is the most fabulous person, someone deeply loved by many and a constant presence across so many initiatives and organisations including Oystercatchers and Let’s Reset. The huge impact she’s had on so many peoples’ lives is profound and she’s someone who’s always been proud of the magnificent industry we all get to call home.”

In parallel to the walk, there will be a simultaneous swim organised at the same time on Perranporth Beach in Cornwall.

Macmillan Cancer Support has been a huge part of Thompson’s professional and personal life since she was first diagnosed with cancer over a decade ago.
