Leaders from Unilever, Klarna and Just Global scoop Global Women in Marketing Awards

The awards, hosted at Ravensbourne University London, celebrate the marketing leaders driving brands forward.

Unilever, Klarna and Just Global were amongst the brands and agencies which picked up awards at the Global Women in Marketing Awards.

Nuria Hernández-Crespo, Chief Marketing Officer for Personal Care at Unilever, picked up the Best Leader In Marketing - Brand award. While Erin Hutchinson, Chief Marketing Officer, Just Global, won the Best Leader in Marketing - Agency award.

The One to Watch Award went to Emma Easterlin, B2B Marketing Lead at  Klarna. While the Creative Marketer of the Year Award was scooped by Carly Osman-Holme, Fractional CMO at Valerie.

In a global landscape of shifting sands it's more important than ever to champion those influencing and impacting the craft of marketing not only at an industry level also at a societal level, to all the awardees congratulations!

Ade Onilude, Founder & CEO, Women in Marketing, a community interest company

Hosted at Ravensbourne University in London, the global awards shone a light on the leaders making a positive difference in the marketing industry.

Ade Onilude, Founder and CEO of Women in Marketing, a community interest company, explained: "Our global theme for 2025 is The Year of Age, celebrating and spotlighting the intergeneration's, it's another anniversary year for us 21 years since the creation of the first WIM event in homage to  international women's day and the 15 year anniversary of the awards.”

She continued: “In a global landscape of shifting sands it's more important than ever to champion those  influencing and impacting the craft of marketing not only at an industry level also at a societal level, to all the awardees, congratulations!”

Hosted by Professor Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas, Professor of Marketing and Sustainable Fashion at Ravensbourne University London, and Dr. Kellie Vincent, Executive Dean of the School of Business Management and Commerce at Ravensbourne University London, the awards opened with a reminder of the privilege and responsibility of working in the industry. 

Radclyffe-Thomas explained: “The Year of Age, the theme of this year’s WIM Awards, chimes with all of us whose work is based in a belief in the power of meaningful intergenerational connectivity and creativity. Working in higher education is an intergenerational activity that we recognise as both a privilege and a responsibility.”

Vincent added: “Many of you will have been inspired by your educators and encouraged to pursue your careers as a result of your own educational experiences. In a creative industry that often chases youth, the nominees for the 2025 WIM Awards show the depth, breadth and diversity of those pioneering innovation and excellence in marketing.” 

The duo pointed to the message behind Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s ‘danger of a single story’ as a reminder of the importance of embracing diverse narratives. They explained: “As we celebrate 15 years of the Women in Marketing Awards it is timely to reflect not only on our own personal, educational and professional journeys, and the stories these hold, but to look forward to co-creating a future marketing industry that champions innovation and provides opportunities for tomorrow’s marketers to shine, for multiple stories to be told, and continue to explore and uncover creativity and excellence where Ade Onilude and Women in Marketing  CIC have trailblazed.” 

This focus on new opportunities was reflected by new opportunities to celebrate trailblazing marketing leaders. Reflecting the growing impact of AI on the creative and marketing industries the WiM AI for Impact Award was scooped by Dr. Gillian Hammah, CMO of Aya Data. 

While the WiM Storyteller of The Year award went to Louise Ridley, an Editorial Director who has worked for organisations including The Female Lead. 

The awards continue to be a successful showcase for the very best copywriting in the industry Ellen Ling, Copywriter at Lingo ,won the WiM Copywriting Award. While the Brand Copywriting Award went to Allie Mica Oliver, Senior Writer, Dixon Baxi.

Women in Marketing continues to champion the industry’s best and brightest changemakers. The WiM Social Impact Award was awarded to Charlotte Meijer, Founder, Open Justice For All.
