On the 18th November 2014 we launched our inaugural BITE event. We took to Facebook’s head office for an evening of smart thinking and fresh insight, where we heard from three brands and their agency partners. The aim was to unearth some of the most creative ideas in marketing and discuss what this means for brand communications. It was an evening designed to inspire and provoke.

Three trends from the previous issues of BITE were brought to life by the client and agency teams responsible for executing the work. After a brief introduction to each trend by the BITE team, we were fortunate enough to have fantastic speakers from:

  • Paddy Power and Lucky Generals on Purpose Beyond Profit: how this positioning has helped the brand to become more socially responsible by building a purpose beyond profit
  • Johnnie Walker and Anomaly on the second Golden Age of Advertising: the place for extended length online-only content
  • Fitness First and The Clearing on It’s Time To Make Yourself Useful: how technology is revolutionising the industry to make fitness more meaningful and reverse declining attrition rates.

We had a 100 strong audience nearly 70 of whom were brand marketers. Brands in the room included:

Mondelez, Microsoft, Birds Eye, BBC, ITV, Arcadia, Barclaycard, Ebay, L’Oreal and The Prince’s trust logos

Marketing Week were our media partners, so if you’d like to see their take-aways from the evening, here’s the article they published.

Here are some photos from the evening:

Keep an eye out for details of the next event – we expect tickets/spaces to go even faster this time around given the great feedback.

“Thanks for the invite to last night’s event which I found very inspirational.”

Louise Taylor – Head of Marketing, Wallis (Arcadia Group)

“Just wanted to let you all know how much I enjoyed last night. It was one of the best events of this type that I have been to in a long time!

Really interesting case studies, good brain food (nibbles and content) and very well delivered on every level. High energy and delivered just the right amount to send you off wanting to know more.”

Fran Caplan – Marketing Director, krow communications
