The awards celebrate the women in the creative industries who are defining the future right now and not waiting to be represented in the future.
Advertising Week Europe have revealed the winners of this year’s Future Is Female Awards. In the midst of a year in which women have been disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus crisis, the awards provide a moment to celebrate and elevate female talent across the industry pushing for progress and building their careers.
The winners were selected based on a combination of proven achievements, demonstrated ability to effect organizational change, commitment to external impact, ability to mentor others, and professional endorsements. According to Advertising Week the women honoured in the awards have demonstrated “best-in-class” leadership.

Ruth Mortimer, chair of the Future is Female judges and Managing Director for Global Education at Advertising Week, said: "The last 12 months have been a timely reminder of the importance of strong leadership and the need to invest in talent. The ability demonstrated by these award winners is quite incredible.”
She continued: “These rising stars have not only excelled in their own careers but have also improved diversity and inclusion in advertising and marketing for others too. All of us at Advertising Week are proud to put the spotlight on the amazing women in our industry—and we’re committed to celebrating their achievements to help set the tone for the future.”
The award ceremony took place as part of this year’s festival, with the winners announced by host Terri White, Empire magazine’s Editor-in-Chief.
The judging panel for the Future is Female Awards included Patricia Corsi, global chief marketing and digital officer at Bayer; Arancha Cordero, Chief Growth Officer at Danone Waters; Shelina Janmohamed, the Vice President of Ogilvy Islamic Marketing and author of books including Love in a headscarf, Generation M and The Extraordinary Life of Serena Williams; and Shanice Mears, founder of The Elephant Room.
Tomorrow as part of Advertising Week Europe; three judges and former winners of the Future is Female Awards will share their views on the power of speaking up and stepping forward. Shelina Janmohamed, Vice President of Ogilvy Islamic Marketing, Ruth Zohrer, Global Chief Client Success Officer at Wunderman Thompson and Deolu King, VP Paid Social at Essence and Co-Founder at I AM History will discuss representation and building the future we want to see. As well as sharing their practical takeaways and insights as how to open more doors and elevate a diverse range of female talent in order to make the industry a more inclusive space for all.
