The Made by Care range has been designed to raise donations for the Building Happier Futures programme which supports the UK care community
A new ‘Made By Care’ range has been unveiled by John Lewis Partnerships and Saatchi and Saatchi .
The range has been designed to raise valuable donations for the Building Happier Futures programme, which supports the UK’s care-experienced community. It includes items across fashion and homeware, and has been created in collaboration with Saatchi & Saatchi and fine artist Izaac.
Izaac applied to collaborate with the John Lewis Partnership and was selected by the charity Become. Izaac worked with the John Lewis in-house design team and creative partners at Saatchi & Saatchi to develop unique designs, the process included time in a one-on-one workshop.
The range features work from the fine art student and includes items across fashion and homeware. The line aims to raise donations for the UK care community and make a lasting impact in the lives of care experienced young people.
The collection is a part of the John Lewis Partnership’s Building Happier Futures programme, which aims to help young people who have experienced care to improve their employability potential. Last year, Made By Care debuted with designer Michael Archibald, an 18-year-old aspiring artist who has experienced care. Archibald crafted an inspiring piece of art to feature on a sustainable and fashionable tote bag.
Speaking on the latest Made By Care range, Rosie Hanley, Director of Marketing, John Lewis Partnership says: “This collection is beautiful, bringing together unique designs that tell a deeply personal story. It’s exciting to see how this range can be a vehicle for change, and we’re thrilled to offer our customers pieces that are not only beautiful but also champion the talents of designers who are care experienced.”
Profits from each product sold in the range will be donated to the Building Happier Futures fund. Donations will go toward building supportive communities for care experienced people and helping families and carers create happy and secure homes.
