Amid endless news of mergers and acquisitions, redundancies and return to office policies, it comes as no surprise that talent is burnt out and the industry is facing a mounting mental health crisis.

To help shape the future of the industry’s mental wellness, NABS, the industry mental wellness charity, is calling on talented young adlanders to join its Next Gen Board.

The Next Gen Board will be instrumental in shaping NABS approach and helping the charity to evolve its work in mental wellness.

The board will be made up of up to 15 people from across advertising, marketing and media, selected with diversity in mind to ensure a wide range of perspectives and insights are brought to the table.

The board will meet throughout the coming year and into the next, spending time with each other and senior industry influencers to help NABS evolve its work.

As well as helping to shape the future of the industry’s mental wellness, the initiative strives to help the young leaders to develop new skills as they will reap a range of career-enhancing benefits.

The Next GenBoard will gain exposure to senior industry leaders in a non-intimidating setting, form part of a safe and honest space to share learnings and experiences and help to shape a healthier and more supportive future for people starting out in adland.

The initiative helps to facilitate mutual learning and information sharing in a safe space.

The board also brings to life NABS’ aim to be more inclusive of people earlier on in their careers. Board participants will be empowered to make key decisions and work with NABS’ leaders on projects designed to have a positive impact on the industry.

“NABS’ Next Gen Board creates space for emerging voices in advertising, media and marketing. The board will tap into this potential to help bring NABS’ vision to life: advancing the mental wellness of everybody in our industry. We’re excited for participants to join us, gaining a fantastic career development opportunity and board experience in return for their vital contribution,” says Lorraine Jennings-Creed, director of wellbeing services and culture change, says.

The board will be co-chaired by Davina Barker, Sales Director at DCM, and Dara Nasr, ex-WeTransfer/Twitter VP, currently strategically consulting at DAZN.

Applications for NABS’ Next Gen Board are open until 27 March 2026. To find out more and apply, please click here.
