To celebrate being certified as a B Corp company and to support the next generation of purpose-driven creative industry young leaders, Shape History has launched a £10,000 fund for young creatives.

The fund named, The History Shaper Fund, will support young people who are using creativity to tackle social issues in the UK and/or around the world. The winner of the prize, judged to be the most creative, effective and inclusive will be chosen to receive the full £10,000.

In addition to financial support, the winning applicant/team will receive mentorship from Shape History and will be able to use their 3,000 sqft office space in Kentish Town, London for up to 6 months.

Applications are open to any young person in the UK aged 18 to 25 who has a new and innovative concept to address anything from human rights to climate justice, health equity or social mobility.

The fund hopes to provide support for young people and their ideas at a time when inflation is reducing opportunities. To help strive toward a more diverse industry the agency is particularly keen to receive applications from people who identify to be from marginalized communities.

The launch of the fund is being supported by both People Like Us and B Labs UK to help raise the profile of the fund.

“We want to create more opportunities for young people who don’t currently see a career for themselves in the creative industries. We hope the History Shaper Fund can be the platform they need to kick start their career, and tackle a social impact issue close to their heart simultaneously,” added Ed Fletcher & Lauren Kay Lambert, Co-MDs of Shape History.

Applications are open now and will close at 5pm on Wednesday 1st March 2023. To find out more about how to apply please click here.
