RNLI, '30 things to do by the seaside' by Bright Blue Day
When 60% of kids spend the majority of July and August with their grandparents, appealing to both the ‘young or young at heart’ is a smart strategy for the RNLI.

For a new RNLI initiative encouraging kids and their grandparents to get the most from the coast, we created a ‘30 things to do by the seaside’ guide to download and enjoy. These printable and social assets are part of ongoing efforts to engage with new audiences.
Two-fifths (40%) of the nation’s grandparents over the age of 50 have provided regular childcare for their grandchildren, a survey by YouGov for Age UK revealed in 2017. This sort of figure shines a light on the unique relationship that forms between the older generations and the young, and on the reality for so many families when it comes to school holidays.
There is no disputing the benefits that come from keeping generations connected, from sharing experience and opinion and it’s something that the RNLI are doing with their latest initiative with Bright Blue Day. To encourage kids and their grandparents to get the most of the coast, the agency created a ’30 things to do by the seaside’ downloadable guide.
The printable and social assets are part of the RNLI’s wider partnership with Ford which sees Bright Blue Day opening up the charity’s offering to engage with new audiences. The assets come as part of a wider digital information pack created for Ford dealerships to have, download and receive inspiring fundraising ideas from the charity itself.
There is nowhere quite like the British seaside in the summer, especially when you’re a child on your summer holidays. And, when 60% of kids spend the majority of July and August with their grandparents, appealing to both the ‘young or young at heart’ is a smart strategy for the RNLI.
