Leeds has absolutely everything you could possibly want or ask for in a place to live. It is often described as ‘Little London,’ representing the grit and determination the city has to be the best and stand out amongst other cities. But it still manages to hold onto the unique personality that Yorkshire is known for; we’re friendly and chatty folk!

There is so much happening in Leeds it’s hard to keep up. But the big plus of having such a small city centre means that you can walk around pretty much all of it in one day or night, and no need to get expensive taxis everywhere – result!

Being able to do this means you really get a feel of what the city is like. It’s always bustling with energy especially when the sun comes out. Fear not though, if the city centre is a little too hectic there are plenty of other places to explore in Leeds such as the suburbs of Headingley and Chapel Allerton that are fast becoming destinations in their own right.

With over 50 different agencies in Leeds, it’s a unique place to work with so much creativity across every square mile of the city. It’s not really surprising that Channel 4 decided to make their new home up here! Even amongst industry professionals in the city everyone knows everyone, and we all make a big collaborative effort to make the best work that the North would be proud of.

People may underestimate Leeds but the creative industry here is really thriving. It goes to show that, particularly here at Savvy Marketing, you can still work on world-renowned brands in the North.

adidas, ‘For Creators Only’

To introduce the launch of the NEMEZIZ 19 at Intersport, adidas created the Dare to Create, ‘For Creators Only’ social campaign. The idea is based on how popular you will become from wearing these new trainers and because of this, how you should choose your friends wisely. These are for creators only remember! This links directly to the win mechanic where, if they tag two friends in the social post, they will win a pair of the shoes and also three tickets to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final. This content was posted on Intersport’s social accounts, receiving over 7,000 likes in under four days, and also @433, the European ‘home of football’ Instagram account with a massive 20.5 million followers.

Just on the outskirts of the city centre, Kirkstall Abbey, founded in 1152 by monks, is a popular tourist attraction as it sits amongst a picturesque public park on the banks of the River Aire. It is the perfect spot for a walk in the countryside, take some photos for the ‘gram or even a wedding! It’s also a great place for children with an adventure trail and family activities that run throughout the year. But it is especially nice to visit the Christmas Market there; beautiful views, peace and quiet AND a warm mulled wine, what’s not to love?

adidas Solar Run Challenge - Savvy.jpg

adidas, SOLAR run challenge

This is a running challenge unlike any other, where runners are encouraged through their Strava app to run the distance to win prizes. The further you run, the better the prizes become. Not only that, the km each individual runs are accumulated together to show how far everyone using the app has run. This currently stands at 273,752km, more than the hours it would take to reach the sun on a plane. However, the mammoth task for the team here at Savvy was to convert the information on the Solar Run Challenge website into 16 different languages, which was no small feat! For the challenge, adidas also launched the new solar boost trainers that feature elements to enhance stability and comfort specifically for long distance runners. That’s bound to put a spring in anyone’s step!

Eat Here

Well, there’s so much choice in Leeds! Depending on what you’re in the mood for there is something for everyone to enjoy. My favourite authentic home cooked food restaurants have to be Sheepscar Grill - IN-CREDIBLE authentic Indian mixed Grill. Or Jenny’s Jerk Chicken – their curry goat rice and peas, just WOW! But if you want something a little more special then you need to pay Sukhothai or Issho a visit. Issho in Victoria Gate has spectacular views of Leeds; when the sun shines you could be on a terrace overseas. Oh, and their sushi is amazing.

GSTAR, ‘IT’S YOU, OWN IT’

GSTAR came to Savvy and asked us to deliver the digital execution of their 360’ mobile first creative concept for their 2019 brand campaign, ‘IT’S YOU, OWN IT.’ Every piece was designed to enrich each digital interaction for the audience and breathe the campaign mantra, with motion graphics playing a large part in amplifying this idea. The aim of this campaign was to simply raise awareness and drive conversion across all channels.
