W+K London x Nike Football - SCARY GOOD

‘SCARY GOOD’ is a creative manifesto celebrating the unmistakable style of football’s most ferocious attackers – one that can make football fun again.   

The campaign features 9 films with each paying homage to the horror and satire of late-night television with a cast of the most dominant attackers, including the greatest of all time, young legends in the making, and barrier breakers.

From spine-chilling flicks and bizarre legal infomercials to late-night psychic readings and nostalgic adult cartoons, SCARY GOOD delivers stories from the pitch in a way that echoes the legacy of Nike Football’s historic creativity.

Directed by Ian Pons Jewell and produced by Prod Co, the films feature visionary direction from Rick Darge, Alex Takåcs, Alice Kunisué, Leonn Ward, Mau Morgó, Luna Carmoon, Lee Hardcastle, Panic Studio, and Thomas Ormonde.

Kylian Mbappé

MbappĂ© led with ‘Kyller Instinct’, a psychological thriller centred on a traumatised goalkeeper and a hospital ward of defenders who had recently faced him. Released exclusively on his Instagram and YouTube channels, the film was supported by extended and cut-down versions and cinema-style posters.

Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland entered the animated ring as the Nordic Nightmare in ‘The Box of Pain’, an after-hours wrestling spectacle filled with football culture references and in-jokes. Amid chaotic animated action, he defeats a line-up of defenders and is crowned champion, celebrating in his signature style.


Cole Palmer

Cole Palmer fronted ‘Reputational Damage Specialists’, a late-night legal infomercial promoting a fictional law firm dedicated to helping defenders recover from the humiliation of facing him. The campaign extended into the real world with a fully operational phone line advertised in film and OOH, offering fans tailored recovery advice from the “boss” himself.


Kerolin Nicoli

Kerolin starred in “Dribble To Survive”, a fictional late-night game show that turned her close-control brilliance into high-stakes entertainment, as she manoeuvred past grotesque defenders who crumbled to dust under her skill. The concept extended to São Paulo with a live “Dribble to Survive” event inspired by the film. 


Catarina Macario

Welcome to ‘Cat Macario’s Cold Blooded Clinic,’ a surreal infomercial where Catarina stars as both receptionist and scientist of a medical lab-like facility. Patients are offered the clinic’s signature treatment for ice-cold composure under pressure – emula

Salma Paralluelo

A local weather report breaks news of ‘The Defender Tormentor,’ cutting live to winger Salma Paralluelo as she tears through the pitch at rapid pace, sending defenders flying away from her force of strong winds. The spot ends with an abrupt warning from Salma advising defenders to stay inside.


Giulia Gwinn

The Gwinners are a group of conspiracy theorists who believe German player Giulia Gwinn is just too good to be one footballer. Centered around her unconventional playing style as a fullback who defends, attacks and scores goals, the film investigates claims that Gwinn has a sinister secret: a twin, a clone, are aliens involved? Delivered in the style of a documentary, we visit a cast of concerned characters who lay bare their darkest theories to expose the truth and explain the mystery of Giulia’s exploits on the pitch. 

 


Vini Jr.

Vini Jr. plays himself in a guest segment on ‘Late Nike Shopping,’ a twisted teleshopping show where unthinkable skills designed to mortify defenders are sold. He unveils ‘O Monstro’ - a brand-new move that he uses to twist the demo-defenders into a heap on the floor. Following the show’s URL, viewers could register to ‘buy’ the ankle-breaking skill, viewing an exclusive tutorial video on TikTok. The film also stars fellow Brazilian legend, Ronaldinho, who’s ‘up next’ in the teleshopping segment, promoting his ‘Original Elasticos’ move.

Alexia Putellas

Alexia stars as a late-night hotline psychic in ‘Free Psychic Readings with Alexia’ She uses her crystal ball and game-reading ability to predict the downfall of her callers on the pitch. She foresees a future where she can anticipate her adversary’s moves, always.
