In celebration of sustainability, football and fashion, Slow Projects has teamed up with England and Manchester United midfielder, Grace Clinton, to create a new capsule collection supported by refurbished tech marketplace, Back Market.

The collection, which launched in the lead-up to the Women’s Euros, is a celebration of women’s sport. It sees Slow Projects, the creative design studio reworking the future of fashion, work alongside female footballing talent to create a fashion collection that celebrates the personal journeys of women in sport.

The campaign titled ‘It’s whatever you want it to be’ is fronted by Grace Clinton, alongside amateur footballers and fans Talia D and Verena Camesasca. Alongside Ed Sonnex, Creative Director & Founder at Slow Projects, the trio have co-designed a limited edition capsule collection of upcycled garments. The pieces merge vintage textiles, reworked kits, and pre-loved materials to tell stories of pride, community, and belonging in women’s football.

Alongside the fashion collection, a supporting campaign showcases each woman’s story through intimate portraits and behind-the-scenes footage that bring to life the thoughtful design elements unique to her journey.

For example, Clinton’s piece was created in London and captured in her family home in Liverpool, reflecting her personal journey to her footballing career. The collection tells the story of women’s sport and its impact both on and off the pitch.

“Shooting with the team in my family home, specifically in the garden where my first childhood memories of kicking a ball began, so every element - from the reverse lining to the stitch detail with small frequency wave stitches that align with my spiritual beliefs - means something personal to me. Football has shaped so much of who I am, and this was a chance to show that in a different way, through fashion and creativity,” Grace Clinton shared.

The campaign was supported by Back Market, Europe’s leading refurbished tech marketplace, which provided the refurbished phones, laptops, and cameras used throughout the creative process. The tech was used in early design stages, right through to content production and final photography.

United by a shared belief that sustainability doesn’t mean compromise but rethinking how we create, consume, and tell stories, the tie-up of the two brands showcases the power of the circular economy in action.

“Some of the most original ideas are built from what already exists. That’s what makes this collaboration so powerful - it blends personal storytelling, sustainability and sport, using refurbished tools to create something entirely new,” says Luke Forshaw, Head of Brand at Back Market.

The innovative collection is a celebration of creativity, showcasing the way football intersects with culture, fashion, sustainability and its profound impact on people's lives.
