THE CHALLENGE

When we first met Paul Anspach and Jack Hobday, they were brewing award-winning beer from their kitchen at home. It was the best stuff we’d tasted in ages. So we joined forces to create their brand. 

The problem was, with the craft beer scene starting to take off, how could we get ahead of the trend to give Anspach & Hobday the standout identity their outstanding beer deserved?



THE SOLUTION

By making A&H one of the first, if not the first, to bring art onto the bottle, we created a style that came to define the whole scene. What made our partners in craft different was their art of taking beers born in the 19th Century and reimagining them for the 21st. Every character we illustrated told the story behind the brand.




That was five years ago. Since then craft beer has exploded. Now, competing with the big money pouring in is the toughest challenge for a fiercely independent brewer. Which is why, in 2018, we collaborated on a new crowdfunding campaign.



THE RESULTS

Smashing Anspach & Hobday’s crowdfunding target, our campaign overfunded 131%. It means now, on the back of over 50% wholesale growth in 2018, the brewery can realise plans to triple production over the coming months. Exciting times ahead and another tasty feather in our cap.
