‘Back of the Neck!’ riffs on football culture to remind audiences to stay safe and cover hard-to-reach areas.
The augmented reality-powered experience will allow workers to let off some steam.
Giving stressed-out workers the chance to let off some steam, Oasis has teamed up with Snapchat to unveil AR-powered ‘Venting Machines’ in Birmingham’s Bullring and London's King's Cross station.
The ‘Venting Machine’ is a playful take on the traditional vending machine with a twist that lets workers release their pent-up energy. Using Snapchat’s AR mirror technology, the Venting Machine challenges workers to scream to unlock one of three custom Snapchat lenses and turn their frustration into a tasty Oasis drink or exclusive prize.
The Oasis Venting Machine is the first of its kind to use decibel detection in an AR mirror. It listens to how loud a scream is to unlock one of three custom Snapchat Lenses, each reacting in real-time to the scream level. Users can then scan a QR code on screen to download a video recording of their scream experience to take home and share.
On the 9th July in Birmingham and the 16th July in London, Troy Hawke is on hand at the machine to add some light-hearted fun and encourage passers-by to get involved.
“The venting machine offers people the chance to get refreshed in more ways than one; with a delicious cold sample of Oasis to enjoy over lunch, and, thanks to Snapchat, an entertaining and interactive scream experience to help lighten their load and relieve the day’s stresses,” says Danny Hall, Senior Brand Manager at Oasis.
The interactive experience uses technology to engage passersby. It builds on Snapchat’s previous success with AR vending machines. Snapchat data shows that 81% of users agree AR can be a fun way to learn about new products, with Snapchatters being 1.6x more likely to use the technology to invite others to shop with them than their peers.
Resh Sidhu, Arcadia Global Director at Snap, explained: “Snap AR is redefining what brand experiences can look like - bold, playful, and rooted in real innovation. With the Oasis Venting Machine, we’ve turned a moment of stress into a moment of joy, powered by our latest tech. This isn’t just a vending machine, it’s a glimpse into the future of how brands can connect with people in the real world creating delightfully shareable moments that live far beyond the scream.”
Proving workers with the opportunity to let off some steam and enjoy an Oasis, the Venting Machine shows how technology can be used to inject fun into brand experiences.
